Many of my clients would tell you that I suggest taking a bath twice a week with Epsom salts and bicarbonate of soda, as part of their aftercare routine.
Nowadays, we get a lot of mixed messages about what can be good or not so good for us. So, it makes sense to find a natural, inexpensive and easy ways of taking care of ourselves. Epsom salts were discovered about 400 years ago in Epsom, Surrey. They are a pure mineral compound of magnesium sulphate in a crystal form. Its not a salt as we know it, as it does not contain sodium chloride. Meanwhile, sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline mineral, that when used with water, makes it silkier and can, in some cases, reduce skin irritation and itching.
Baths can be therapeutic and cleansing and the addition of these two ingredients brings many benefits that can help us relax our muscles, feel better and provide some me time that we find hard to get. You can grab a book, listen to music or simply just soak in, ideally for 40 minutes in warm water.

Resting Soft Pretzel Dough
There isn’t a ton of ‘resting’ time for this recipe. The initial bit of rest time after the dough comes together and then you move right along in to making them.
You’ll skip the traditional pretzel resting time after you form them in to pretzels. Go straight in to brushing with the egg wash and baking.
All the resting time that we are skipping saves so much time.
Now it doesn’t mean that you can’t rest them. You totally can. But know you don’t have to. If you watch in my video, after my dough has puffed up I don’t have any more resting time allotted.

To make a basic baking soda bath all you need are baking soda and water.

- Run warm water for one minute
- Add one cup of baking soda to the bath
- Allow the water to fill up the tub
- If you decide to add the baking soda after the tub is full, stir it with a spoon to make sure it dissolves properly

Both popular DIY or home spa suggestions, enriching your warm bath water with either baking soda or Epsom salt can be a great sensory experience. But they offer different benefits: Baking soda helps with skin issues, while Epsom salt is often relied on for help finding muscle pain relief.6

Baking soda bath are considered as safe, inexpensive, and many times, effective approach to take care for your skin as well as resolve health concerns. Powdered Milk And Baking Soda Bath:

- 1/4 cup of Baking Soda

- Now remove the cap and in that add any essential oils blend, putting each drop in the mixture. Then, re-cap the jar and shake it properly to combine.

- Store it in a cool and dark place.
- Now to use it pour 1 or 2 cups of your milk bath inside hot water.
- Swish around in order to discard any lumps, now lie back and relax.
- Lastly, finish this skin-softening experience through a hydrating lotion or body oil.

- Apart from that, the mixture works to nourish your skin, so it is recommended for your dry skin.

Tired muscles release lactic acid after intense exercise, causing muscle pain and fatigue. As baking soda is a natural antacid, adding 1 cup to your warm tub of water will soothe your muscles and offer pain relief. Add baking soda to an Epsom salt bath recipe to really rejuvenate.

Nail Infections Other Fungal Skin Issues
Various types of fungal strains may infect nails and skin of babies and the antifungal baking soda bath is the cure you need here.

Baking Soda Paste: Another Eczema
Another option to soothe babys flare-ups with baking soda is by applying it directly to the skin as a paste. The National Eczema Association recommends this treatment for the same reasons they recommend the baking soda bath.
But just like with the bath, be sure to ask your babys dermatologist before starting to apply baking soda paste.
If your dermatologist has given the okay, heres how to make and apply baking soda paste:
- Mix baking soda with clean, warm water.
- Aim for a thick and mud-like consistency. Youll want a paste that you can apply to a flare-up without it running off.
- Apply the paste to babys flared-up eczema areas. Leave the paste on for about 3-5 minutes.
- Gently rinse off the paste with lukewarm water.
- Apply moisturizer to all areas where you applied and rinsed off the paste. This will lock in the benefits of the paste treatment.

- You are prone to fainting.
- You have an open wound.

Can I Use Baking Powder Instead Of Baking Soda To Clean
Baking soda and baking powder are not chemically the same, and so you should not substitute baking soda for baking powder when following a cleaning guide. Whilst baking powder may offer some cleaning effect, it really is just designed for baking, and so it is not recommended that you use it for any cleaning purposes.
