Freedom Springs Aquatics Park in Greenwood, IN is a great family water park perfect for cooling off from the summer heat. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Freedom Springs features a tube slide, two body slides, a drop slide, a lazy river, a lap pool, a lily pad crossing, and a water splash play area for infants and toddlers.
Youll also find cabanas and shelters here for rent, along with concessions. Special events are held here throughout the summer, like their adults-only nights, but the biggest event is their season-ending Puppy POOLooza event. At Puppy POOLooza, your four-legged family members get a chance to join in on the water park fun. How cute is that?!

What a crazy-fun weekend we had at Big Splash Adventure in French Lick! This place is the perfect spot for a family with kids of almost any age. In our multi-generational travel group, the school aged kids had the most fun, followed by the adults and toddlers. The teens in our group had fun for a while but then were ready to move on to doing other activities, they didnt seem to get the same enjoyment from the water park as everyone else.

Wisconsin Great Wolf Lodge
If you have younger kids or older kids who arent so keen on big, dark water slides the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park in Wisconsin Dells is a great choice. They have 3 connected water parks that do a great job of catering to the pint sized crowd. Almost all of the slides are open concept or lighted so they are less scary . Except for the Hurricane , I did it once and that was enough for me.
GWL is also known for all their fun activities they have throughout the day especially on the weekend. For example, when you check in each of the kids will get a set of wolf ears to wear! Then through the day they have things like story time where an interactive display tells a night time story or trick-or-treating if you are there in October. There are also multiple restaurants on site.
One of our favorite non waterpark things to do was have a yummy huge ice cream sundae called The Tipping Bucket as a family on our last night there. This thing was massive and yummy with ice cream, cookies, brownies, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and sprinkles!! Plus they have delicious Wisconsin cheese curds you cant pass these up when you are in Wisconsin. You get all this yumminess at Buckets Incredible Craveables be sure to check the time because they do close early.
Big Splash Adventure Water Park French Lick
Big Splash has some very nice dressing rooms and shower facilities for those of you who are left without a hotel room after check out. This indoor waterpark resort was just a short two and half hour drive from Indianapolis and worth every minute. Spend the weekend pretending that youre doing a summer activity, even during the coldest days of the year. Most of the rooms sleep 4 people and even have BUNK BEDS but there are several rooms that can sleep many more than 4! You just may have to purchase extra water park day passes. The room rates start at about $130 per night and Id rank this one WELL WORTH IT!

Prophetstown State Park Aquatic Center
The Aquatic Center at Prophetstown State Park is the perfect budget-friendly outdoor water park to visit in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Castle Rock Resort and Waterpark is a great family friendly resort in Branson, Missouri. This resort is perfect for families because of the large rooms that sleep up to 7 guests. Most rooms feature two double beds and a nook with bunk beds and an extra TV. The 30,000 sq ft indoor water park is very family friendly with plenty of shallow pool areas and kiddie slides. They offer free life jackets for children, which is very helpful. The water park has an interesting layout as it is spread across 3 levels of the building. Kiddie pools, slides and lap pool are on the bottom floor. The fun lazy river with several water features and entrances to the two bigger water slides on the second floor. Finally, the two big watersides, which alternate being open, are on the third floor.
Castle Rock is just off the main road so its close to everything, but doesnt have the traffic of being on highway 76. While it doesnt offer a continental breakfast, there is a restaurant onsite for easy dining. In addition, it is very close to many Branson restaurants and attractions making it a convenient choice for families.
