West Midland Safari Park Unveil New Luxury Lodges In Lion Enclosure

New water attraction opens at Lion Country Safari

Four overnight lodges will be built, as well as a new ‘bachelor pad’ for the park’s male lions

More luxury lodges are being built at West Midland Safari Park so visitors can get a closer look at the animals. The four new cabins will be next to the lions’ enclosure.

They will join the Kidderminster tourist attraction’s existing overnight accommodation which has proved a huge hit with visitors. Income from these is also paying for a new ‘bachelor pad’ for the lions to move into.

Planning permission was granted for the new lion lodges on December 9. It means work can now begin and they should be open by early summer.

Each lodge will be single storey and will be integrated into a new habitat which is being built for the park’s bachelor group of lions. The lodges will sleep up to six people, with one of them being accessible for guests with disabilities.

All four lodges will have open-plan living spaces, an outdoor private garden and floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedrooms and living area. It means guests can eat, sleep and bathe just a whisker away from the magnificent cats – all at a safe distance.

The introduction of the new lodges also enables the park to upgrade the habitats of the lions. The bachelor lions will get a new house which has been designed for them both as singletons, but will also be able to be adapted if the park decides it wants to introduce lionesses as well.

Lion Country Safari World Amusement Park

  • Lion Country Safari
  • Lion Country Safari is mostly known for its Drive-Through feature, the “Safari on Wheels” where the animals roamfreely and you drive and observe from your car.

The “Walk-Through” part of the Safari or the “Amusement Park” is often overlooked, but it has so much on offer, you really need to plan onmaking the time for it at the end of your drive-through.

Every time we visit we find new features and attractions being added. There arerides for the little ones, petting zoos, mini-golf, shows, boat rides, camel rides and our favorite activities, giraffe feeding and lory feeding.

In the warmer months, there is a great splash park, water slides and all.

In keeping with the theme, the Amusement Park is a beautifully landscaped, and showcases many animals as well.

There are flamingoes… and paddle boat rides…

Shows and animal presentations really add to the experience. You can learn a lot about animal behavior and observe as trainers interact with some really amazing animals.

And do not miss the Giraffe feeding station, it is incredible. You come up to the platform and are eye-to-eye with the giraffes…

And we could never leave without stopping by the Budgy Aviary where you can get little cups of nectar to feed the lories for $1. It really is a fantastic experience, such beautiful colorful birds!

Lion Country Safari’s New Water Attraction Debuts With A Big Splash

Lion Country Safari Offers Fun for the Whole Family

The much anticipated Lion Country Safaris 10,000-square foot water attraction opened Wednesday with enthusiastic approval from visitors and city dignitaries.

Atop Safari Falls is the most eye-catching and fun feature: a 550-gallon dump bucket that splashes water approximately every five minutes to visitors in the 20 inch-deep pool.

Other amenities include water slides and cannons.

The new water attraction, included in the cost of admission to the park, is located near Lion Country Safaris original Safari Splash playground, which is mainly used by smaller children.

Wellington mayor Anne Gerwig, who attended the ribbon cutting, said the attraction is a beautiful step up from the original water playground.

Lion Country Safari is a huge part of this community, Gerwig said. Its not just an attraction, its a real interaction with wildlife. I went to a safari in South Africa with my husband, and Lion Country is pretty close to that. And its right here in our backyard.

Jennifer Berthiaume, managing director of the park, said the water park will give guests the opportunity to interact even more with everything the park has to offer.

Berthiaume also mentioned the park will soon add taco truck to its dining options.

This new water attraction is such a great addition to Lion Country Safari and to Palm Beach County in general, said Glenn Jargensen, executive director of the Tourist Development Council. It will create great experiences for Palm Beach County visitors.

The Ultimate Guide To Lion Country Safari

Do you love animals and looking for a family-friendly activity to do with you kids? Check out Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida. Just 20 miles from downtown West Palm Beach, LCS is a 600-acre attraction with a drive-thru safari, walk-through adventure park, and KOA campground. With over 1,000 wild animals and various attractions, Lion Country Safari offers something for the whole family.

Our family has been annual passholders for almost a year now and weve taken multiple trips to Lion Country Safari. I can honestly say, it is one of our favorite attractions in Florida. Weve explored the entire adventure park, driven through the safari at least 5 times, and have done all of their animal encounters. This past weekend, we even had a chance to check out the Flamingo Mingle, one of their premium experiences. Id say, that makes us pretty much experts.

Why is LCS one of our favorite attractions? Because there is so much to see and do! I love places that offer multiple ways to keep my kids entertained all day long. The drive-thru safari is fun and educational, but only if your kids are in the mood. At least be real, sometimes mine arent. So, what else is there to do? Ill tell you.

Park officials decided to modify the 2020 season, keeping some functions such as splash pads, walking trails, picnic areas, guided tours, and presentations as unavailable for guests. New water attraction opens at Lion Country Safari

Did you know that Lion Country Safari is more than just a drive-thru safari? So much more actually! LCS has everything from wild animals to domestic animals, a waterpark, animal encounters, and a campground. Like I said, a whole lot more than just a safari!

    Safari Drive-Thru

The drive-thru safari is 4-miles long, with large herd animals roaming freely around. It is divided into 7 main habitats and is home to some of the largest herds of zebras, rhinos, and giraffes in the country.

During the drive, you can tune into the audio tour on their website or pick up a CD from the main office before you start. It is very informative and is a great resource for learning about the animals, their habitats, and animal conservation. The drive can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. It is pretty slow and you have to keep your windows up, but you still get up close with some of the animals.

PRO TIP: pack snacks and drinks for your kids!

    Safari World

Besides the drive-thru, everything else on property is inside Safari World Adventure Park. It is a walk-thru park, adjacent to the safari, that has animal encounters, a waterpark and food! IMO, there is more to do for younger children in this area. I would say 18mo-10 years would be the average age for most attractions.

PRO TIP: save money and pack a lunch. enjoy it at one of the many picnic areas

    Water Park

PRO TIP: pack a swim bag with an extra change of clothes

    Animal Encounters

PRO TIP: bring cash & quarters to feed the animals
