I called several local plumbers, and they wouldn’t give a price without looking at the house, which they couldn’t do for at least a couple of days, then it would be a few more days to schedule the installation. Since the Home Depot price seemed fair, but I’m guessing not the cheapest, I didn’t feel like going without hot water for a week to save a few dollars.

Lowes/home Depot Tank Water Heater Installation Delivery Fees Any Experiences
In the event that you purchase and install a water heater from HD or Lowes. Is it possible for the installers to pick up the new water heater for free from the corresponding retailer, or do they have to charge their regular $ 75 delivery cost in addition to that? I believe that there is a: 1. A $ 40 one-time inspection or quotation cost, after which the installation visits your home and provides you with a quote or estimate. It will not be subtracted from the final cost of the project. 2. A baseline installation price of $325 in addition to the estimate fee of $40.
Any additional pipe or other materials will be charged separately.
But what about the $ 75 delivery price that youll often have to pay if you buy it on your own and have it shipped to your residence?
Or would it be provided at no additional cost because you are opting for their installation services?
