Jersey Devil Coaster On Track For 2021

Six Flags Great Adventure’s newest ride, the Jersey Devil Coaster, is still on track to open in 2021, though details of an exact opening date were unavailable.

Up to 130 feet high, sending riders as fast as 58 miles per hour as they hurtle over 3,000 feet of track, the Jersey Devil Coaster is set to be the tallest, longest and fastest single-rail coaster in the world.

Originally announced in 2019, the coaster ran into construction delays due to the pandemic. Crews returned to work in December, placing the final piece of track in January.

COVID-19 safety measures remain in place this year, including a limit on daily attendance. All guests, including park members and season pass holders, must make advance reservations and are required to have been healthy for at least 14 days prior to visiting the park.

All employees and guests older than 2 are required to wear masks covering their nose and mouth at all times, with the exception of designated mask break zones, and in pools and water park attractions.

Temperatures of employees and visitors will be checked on arrival, and social distancing will be encouraged on lines and in dining areas. Common areas will be sanitized, hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations will be available throughout the parks, and mobile payments will be accepted at restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows and parking lots.

The Best Time To Visit Six Flags

The best time to visit Six Flags is on the weekdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day when everything is open. However, if you dont plan to go to Hurricane Harbor, where most water rides are, try a day during April or September.

The park starts to operate in late March or early April when big crowds and long lines are the norms at Six Flags. May and June are less busy as the park prepares for the summer crowds. July to October is the busiest time for the park, as it is the time for summer crowds and Fright Fest.

What To Bring When Going To Six Flags

You dont want to carry a hefty backpack to Six Flags, and most large bags cant be taken on rides with you. So, pack light and only bring the necessities for the day.

  • GoPro/other action cameras: Bring your action camera and mounting equipment if you love photographing or want to capture your epic moment on the ride. Note that some of the rides, such as El Toro and Kingda Ka, are too fast for the camera to be secured, so only bring your camera to moderate rides in case you lose them.

What is changed in the article: general updates based on the most recent and available information.

I have never been a fan of roller coasters. Never. I hate that horrible sinking feeling. Plus, I am afraid of heights. These two qualities certainly dont make me a promising candidate to survive the thrills of Six Flags, which my best friend has wanted to visit for a long time.

We planned to go there during his birthday in 2019, but the park was closed that day, so instead, we went to The Modern to celebrate. Since then, we have always wanted to go but never had a chance. Why? Because we dont drive, and it is almost 2 hours from where we live.

In this post, we will cover everything you need to know about Six Flags so you can develop your perfect plan of attack.

This is the first roller coaster you will see after entering the park. It starts with a launch – a very fast launch that gets you from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over three seconds! After heading straight up a 12-story, 90-degree hill, this 4-D, free-fly coaster wreaks havoc as you flip head-over-heels along the weightless journey.

Without any pauses or braking, youll blast through a cobra roll, a sidewinder loop, a corkscrew, and countless swift reversals in between. If you are looking for a ride to warm up, this is definitely something you should try.
