The water park comes with admission to Hersheypark and contains 16 water attractions.

A guest favorite is East Coast Waterworks. According to the Hershey, Pa. website, this water playground is modeled after the iconic boardwalks on the east coast, offering more than 600 interactive water features. It also dumps 1,000 gallons of water on guests every few minutes.

Next to East Coast Water Works is the slide complex entitled Coastline Plunge. According to Hershey, Pa. website there are six slides that make up Coastline plunge. They are:

  • Hydro The orange slide
  • Vortex The blue and red bowl slide
  • Whirlwind The blue and yellow funnel slide

The newest attractions at the Boardwalk include Breakers Edge and Whitecap Racer.

Breakers Edge is a water coaster-type ride that uses magnets to propel riders up and down hills and around high-speed turns. Each raft holds four guests and reaches speeds of up to 15 miles per hour. This is one of the most popular rides at the Boardwalk, so if you plan on riding it, make sure you get on it as soon as the waterpark opens!

Whitecap Racer is one of the longest mat racer slides in the world. Race against your friends, family, and other guests and you speed down the slide on your way to victory.

For young kids, they have their own wave pool, called Bayside Pier, as well as splash playgrounds Sandcastle Cove and Shoreline Sprayground.

Timing Is Everything Have A Plan

Pin by Angel Beard on Hershey Park HAPPY!!

Yes, you need to buy your tickets online before you get to the park.

Yes, you should consider coming to the park during the week.

And lastly, yes, you should arrive at the park before it opens.

Ok, those are the obvious tips but they are so important. You will have to wait with a few hundred other people to get through the gate at opening. But the line goes fast and this is the only way to really maximize your time in the park.

When we visited , the parking attendant indicated that even during the week the park will get super crazy busy if it is sunny and hot out. Going during the week just takes the edge off. Tip: Some days of the week are better than others. For instance, Friday is likely pretty busy. Same for Monday . Tuesday-Thursday would be the sweet spot for crowds.

Note: I just checked reviews on TripAdvisor and that confirmed what I am about to tell you: Avoid planning a Hersheypark trip on a summer weekend day if you can avoid it. As in, you will likely not have a super sweet time. You will be waiting in horrible lines for everything.. and you will be stink pot hot. This is great advice for any amusement park. But for Hersheypark it seems especially true.

Regardless, on the day you go, walk to the back of the park and enjoy the rides at Midway America first. This also has the added benefit of getting your long walk out of the way before everyone is exhausted.

Hershey Park Rides And Water Park

its been a very long time since I visited Hershey before they added the boardwalk. Back in the 90s as a young kid. anyways i was wondering how many water rides does Hersey have? is the water park big?

and can someone let me know where the lockers are located through out the park like in the water park area? and how much they cost to rent?

Are there lockers?

Straight from the Hersheypark website, this was easier than explaining:

Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis and located inside the Park entrance, at Founder’s Circle, and at several locations in The Boardwalk. Lockers are rented by the day. Credit cards accepted. Neither employees, Guest Relations, or Security are permitted to hold customer items for temporary storage. The lockers are not large enough to store big stuffed animals. the big stuffed animals can be stored at the “Barking Lot” located under the West Stand of Hersheypark Stadium near the entrance to the Park. Any problems with lockers will be handled through the Merchandise Office. Rental costs: large locker $20.00 and regular locker $15.00.

The Hersheypark website lists 15 water rides & attractions. Keep in mind though they list the East Coast Waterworks as one attraction, but it is a huge complex of water activities and slides. The water park area of the park is large and one can easily spend a day or the better part of a day there. Two of the rides listed are not in the water park area.

If you have 2 days:

Drive up the night before your first full day and go to Preview Hours. Spend one full day at the Amusement Park. The next day spend your day at Boardwalk, but plan to leave around 2pm . Head to Hersheys Chocolate World by late afternoon and wrap up your fun there by dinner time.

If you have 3 days:

Drive up the morning before your first full day and go to Hersheys Chocolate World during the afternoon. Enjoy the park at night for Preview Hours.
